Seriously messed up day...

So I know that not every day can go as well as I'd hope, but isn't there a limit somewhere as to how much can happen in one day. I woke up this morning and while I would have liked to sleep in, it just wasn't happening. I had to go to the doctor today and like every time I go, I have to bring a sample. So now it's a matter of running about and trying to find the little cup.

Forty five minutes of doing the 'I have to potty' dance, I still couldn't find the stinking cup and called it quits. I figured that the doc was just going to have to go without this time. After a few hours I had to run off to the doc's office so I got in the car and pulled out. I realized that the car seemed a bit off balance, so I put it in stop and looked at the front left tire. It was low, so I figured that I'd put more air in the tire at the gas station down the block.

Bacon Day! Whee!!

So today is bacon day, which is one of my favorite days. We do this every once in a while. It's kinda like the Iron Chef show where you have an ingredient that you have to use in everything. We use bacon. First up today was bacon wrapped water chestnuts that had been marinated in brown sugar and soy sauce. Mmmm mmmm tasty! They are followed by Asparagus sautéed in butter and bacon with lemon pepper on top. This one was my idea. lol We finished it off with bacon wrapped shrimp with garlic teriyaki. I want much much more.

Hacked

Well that was entertaining, my site actually got hacked. Some moron came in and deleted a bunch of files at random. It's ok though because I actually had a backup of my site, so I got it fixed. This particular looser was kind enough to leave my kid's blog alone. They just went after this site and the airsoft site I host.

Oh well, another afternoon wasted.

Inglorius Basterds

So the other day I went out and saw Inglorius Basterds with Jim, Shaun, and Heidi's brother. It was not really what the previews had made it out to be. The movie was split into five parts, which I could actually understand a bit. Violence and witty conversation seemed to be the theme of the day... well, violence, witty conversation, and 70's music... I'm not really sure how that fits. The characters were slightly static and two-dimensional. The main characters were barely seen in action and I think the Nazi's got more screen time really. While it is funny to watch a nazi get beat to death with a baseball bat, that was the most real action that was shown. Without giving too much away, I liked the fifth part, but that's where it devolved completely into fiction as if it wasn't camped there originally.

Now I don't normally watch movies set in WWII. I prefer watching just about anything else including documenteries, but this was alright despite the drawbacks. I'm not even close to the whole 'I laughed, I cried, it's a masterpiece'. I'm not going to rush out and buy it the second it comes out on DVD. Hell, I probably wouldn't even see it again on Netflix or HBO, but it is at least worth seeing once in the theaters, if for no other reason than to see Brad Pitt's character badly mangle trying to pass as Italian.

Ta!
